Some significant information I learned after listening to these stories was that many people suffered during the Great Depression. Alot of people were homeless. The poor resorted to the lowest paying jobs, and some unfortunately could not find any jobs at all. People threw "rent parties" to pay for the rent when they were short.

Some significant information that I learned while listening to the interviews was that sometimes women had to do things that men did at the time and that sometimes their lives were really rough. An example of this is Mrs. Elizabeth E. Miller who had to do many things around the house when her husband wasn't home http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/eliza.html. Although sometimes they weren't so busy like Mrs. Mayme Reese who often got together with her friends. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/mayme.html.

Some significant information that I learned was that many poor people had different feelings about the rich. One man looked on the bright side, another man thought that the poor were being cheated out of mony by the rich. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/manbar.html http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/manpark.htmlI also learned that the poor had to take more dangerous jobs so they could earn enough money to make a living at the time. An example of this is Chris Thorsten who was an iron worker in New York. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/thorsten.html. Many people such as Marie Haggerty had to work as a maid in larger household and most were chosen for looks along with honesty.http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/marie.html.
